Loudoun County Reality Store is a hands-on personal financial simulation exercise with seniors in Loudoun County high Schools. They are assigned a career, monthly salary and none to two children.
They have to go to every budget area and try to maintain a positive balance in their checkbook.
Some students will have to get a second job to afford childcare and housing.
Many will have to live in groups of five or six in order to afford an apartment in Loudoun County.
Every student leaves the exercise shocked by how expensive it is to live here but
determined to go on in their education in order to afford to stay in their hometown.

We are always in need of volunteers
Each store requires 15 to 20 volunteers for three hours of work.
Volunteers find the Store and students are invigorating and fun to work with.
